Congressional Hearing on Implementation of the Math Science Partnership Program: Views from the Field
Abstract
On Thursday, October 30, 2003 the Subcommittee on Research of the House Science Committee held a hearing to discuss the implementation of the Math Science Partnership (MSP) Program at the National Science Foundation (NSF). The MSP Program, part of President Bush's No Child Left Behind initiative, was authorized by the House in the NSF Authorization Act, which was signed into law in December 2002. The program provides grants to partnerships of universities and school districts (and sometimes businesses) to improve K-12 math and science education. This hearing was the Congress's first look at how this major new initiative is working.Hearing Transcript (html)
